The Story Behind the Name

Sum of One is a small, deliberate play on words. It echoes someone — because you already are one. It nods to maths, where the number one stands complete on its own. And yes, it's a quiet wink to the founder's name (she'll introduce herself when the time feels right).

It started, as most good things do, as doodles. Phrases scribbled in the margins of notebooks. Designs that felt too honest to leave tucked away. A growing collection of I-wish-someone-had-told-me-this-when-I-was-younger energy — printed on the things people actually wear, carry, and live in.

We chose a print-on-demand model on purpose. Each product is made after it's ordered, which means less textile waste, fewer overstock landfills, and a more thoughtful way of putting things into the world. It also keeps us focused on what we actually love — the design, the story, the community — rather than rooms full of unsold inventory.
